About our name and logoThe name of our company is
derived from the name of two outstanding characters and historical
figures which we believe to be role models for integrity, dilligence
and the courage to make the right decision at the right time - all
characteristics required for good financial advice.
These persons are
Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain
and
Theodore Roosevelt
Both
were all their live involved in the plight to better
the life of the people around them, something we too find truly
important in our understanding of our work as service for clients in
need of professional help and advice in all kind of financial matters.
Or, as Chamberlain did phrase it so well:
It is something great and greatening to cherish an ideal, … to set aside the near advantage, the momentary pleasure … and to act for remoter ends, for higher good, and for interest other than our own!
Of
course we are running primarily a business at the end of the day and not a branch
of the salvation army. But we believe that by serving to the best
interest of our clients we are generating a long lasting business which
is mutual beneficial for all participants, you and us. We rather forgo a short-term
quick profit in exchange for a long lasting and healthy relationship
with out clients. Of course you can and must expect from us that we
truly know what we talk about when we select and recommend certain
options from the wide field of solutions and products for you in a
given situation. But it is even more important that we take your
interest to our hearts, that we care about how you do today and in the
future. This is too what makes us different to other "financial
advisors". Teddy Roosevelt said it better then any other source we know:
Nobody cares how much you know,
until they know how much you care! Now, having read all this, you will still wonder why our name is a mix-up of twisted syllables,Chamber-velt and Roose-lain?
On
one hand we had received legal advice at the time the company was
founded that we should make sure we would not infringe on any rights
concerning these names. And on the other hand, since we could not ask
any of these two gentlemen if they would allows us to use their name, we
thought it better to show our tribute to their character and life
without claiming to be descendants or directly related this way.
The
logo is another mix of hints towards these persons and our own
understanding and vision of what financial advice is all about. While
the bear obviously is connected to "Teddy" Roosevelt, the lion stands
for Chamberlain, who was once adressed to have the "soul of the lion
and the heart of a woman" . The red Maltese cross was the sign of the
division to which the 20th Maine belonged, the regiment Chamberlain lead at the
battle of Gettysburg on Little Round Top. But Teddy Roosevelt also had a close connection to the Maltese Cross, his farm in the West where he spent many years was named "Maltese Cross Ranch". And the bee in the middle of
the cross stands usually in heraldic lore for dilligence, saving and
productivity...... all traits we adhere to.
