people have already found truly independent advice

There has been a major change in the taxation of capital gains since January 2009. While there is a lot of confusion out there - not exactly helped by the hype some banks and financial sales organisations are trying to generate to sell some products considered to "avoid" the new CGT in one way or the other - it is actually a simplification of sort in the end. Before there were all kind of special rules and excemptions and now it is more or less clear and the same accross the board.

Nevertheless, in order to help Expats to understand the changes better and what they mean for their investments/assets both in Germany or abroad, our investment and tax specialist has written a 4-page concise info brochure already in Oct. 2008 and it is still available for anyone interested here.
